Basically they have a hill in their back garden, they take the dog out there for the toilet so light would only be on for a couple of minutes. They want the light pointing up towards the hill which is higher than the house. I'm not overly keen on the idea as something tells me a 230v light...

Someone I know has asked me to fit a light on top of their roof & to fix it on toa pole that has his & his two neighbours TV aerials on it. I'm not to keen on the idea, is there any reason why this shouldn't be fitted on this pole, regulations wise?

I understand you're not meant to run fire cabes that are used in a 24v system along with 240v cables. The route I'm taking with the fire alarm cable has to go through an old block wall, there are twin & earths running through this entry, is there anyway I could still run it through this entry or...

This is probably another stupid question but...won't the steel have an earth at it already as the bit that the flex goes into for the electric garage door, sits on top of the steel frames, joined by nuts & bolts?

My gran just got a gas fire installed, the plumber clipped the pipe round the bottom of the house from gas canister in back garden to fire. The metalwork ain't earthed. What's the easiest option to earth it as I assume it needs it, small earth rod & link onto pipework? Is this satisfactory?
