[b] I can use the washing machine connection to drain down? That sounds too easy to be true!

Draining system - no drain-off valves - and fitting new rad

Many thanks for the replies, chaps. Above is a link to 'my album' with 3 pictures to illustrate what I am working with. The first image shows the under-boiler area, which I have left exposed for easy access. (I'll knock some sort of hatch up in due course.) The second pic shows where I...

Draining system - no drain-off valves - and fitting new rad

Hello all, I want to fit a rad in a recently-converted garage. None of the existing rads have a drain-off valve, which I found odd. Anyway, last week I removed a rad from a wall that had to be removed and the pipe work is still coming up. Could I connect up to one of these valves to drain the...

OK, simply passing on info I've been advised in the past. Incidentally, do you have any idea what the actual ratio of efficacy is between Poly and PIR? Thanks

    Kingspan / Celotex under screed

I wouldn't use Poly insulation: it is about 5 times less effective and only half the price ... It should be 5 times cheaper than PIR!!

    Kingspan / Celotex under screed

I am in the process of converting my garage into an additional room. I used 100mm PIR insulation under the screed. I found Encon the cheapest supplier. They were cheaper even than online companies selling 'cheap' seconds. I believe they were £25 p 100mm sheet compared with £35-£40 everywhere...

Builders legal requirements when adding a basement?

Hello all, Do any members have any info on any specific legal requirements a general builder has to adhere to if/when adding a basement to a property? My brother is a bricklayer by trade, and works as a general builder too, doing mainly extensions and loft conversions etc. Recently he has been...

    2-way switching with one-gang and two-gang switch

This is going to be more complicated than I anticipated. Think I'll stick to one-gang switches!

    2-way switching with one-gang and two-gang switch

[/url] At the moment all I have is the T & E supply from the kitchen. I decided yesterday to remove the lot and start from scratch!
