Static, thanks for pointers and hopefully give better info below.
It is hollow block to a height of one metre and gravel base, will be backfilling with gravel and running land drain behind. Length is thirty metres.

Good morning,
After much research I have opted to build a retaining wall using one of the gravity based block systems. Does anyone know of a supplier in Central Scotland who supplies this product to homeowners/self builders. I have looked and looked (perhaps not well enough) and cannot seem...
Thanks for quick replies.
Full fill is specified by architect, using breathable membrane on 18mm sarking and insulation pushed right up to sarking. Actually putting in a couple of 140's as I need a couple of cables run in ceiling.
Hello to all,
I'm putting 150mm full fill insulation (Kinspan/Celotex) between rafters. I can get a load of relatively cheap 100mm Kinspan (K7) and was wondering if BC is okay with adding separate 50mm layer - 32.5 insulated plasterboard will go over the top. Only other factor is all boards...
Seems to confirm I can go with wiring in the gap theory. 1John, spot on that is what I was hoping to do, just needed some confirmation I was not totally off beam.
I'll have a chat with electrician re order of fit, I'm putting the insulation in myself but steering well clear of electrics/cat...
The plasterboard is Kingspan K18 (CFC/HCFC–free rigid phenolic
insulation) with foil back.
Was hoping yo get wiring into gap between two so hopefully can do this, would also include trunking as extra measure.
Thanks for quick reply.
Do you mean cable in 50mm gap held to blockwork and then through the ply and through the insulation between uprights, that would mean more holes in insulation than I was hoping for. I've only just accepted that I'll need to cut into the insulated plasterboard.
Good...
Hello to all,
I have searched forum but cannot find definitive answer. External work on extension is nearing completion (as an aside do not believe there are no good builders left, ours have been an absolute pleasure to work with) and it is now time to start planning the first fit...
Thanks Slapper
I was familiar with Grant but not Firebird, thanks for suggestion as I think a Firebird Enviromax Combi (35kw) is the very one for me. Should cope with 10 radiators (set at low/medium) and hot water requirements. Time for some googling to get best price.
Yes, given there is very good mains pressure I thought this would be the best option to deliver good pressure to all (running) taps. Having said that it may be that a good combi would suffice as despite the number of beds/baths there is only two of us who will have visitors some weekends etc...
First post so please be gentle.
Extension frame is up and block-work complete next week (I hope). Planning for kitting out and looking into new CH system. A system storage option would seem ideal (3 bed/3 bath) but I require it to be oil fired (or could do LPG but not sure if it is cost...
