Thanks again. The pilot assembly was covered in ceramic carbonisation and although sucked clean with vacuum cleaner the pilot light is not a pencil blue beam and sometimes as faint yellow colour in it. Seems to be direct onto probe though. Where is airhole you mention please? :)

Thanks for reply- looking at breakdown diagram for Valor 956 showing both piezo and pilot units, i cannot see / ident microswitches you mention. Where else could they be?
