Replacing 15mm copper CH system with 10mm PB barrier pipe. Is this the done thing now?

Since this will be surface mounted (just above skirting board) I'd rather do runs in the less conspicuous 10mm. Needs to get through one wall too, which will be easier with the 10mm.

Replacing 15mm copper CH system with 10mm PB barrier pipe. Is this the done thing now?

Got a CH leak somewhere under the floor of a studio flat (boiler is losing pressure, but holds when CH flow and return are isolated). It's currently 15mm copper, but I'm loathed to start lifting floors looking for a leak; it's only 3 radiators so thinking of surface mounting with new 10mm PB...

Bosch oven cooling fan comes on spontaneously; very hot resistor. NOW WITH PHOTO

Right you are. Yes I’ll do that. Cheers.

Bosch oven cooling fan comes on spontaneously; very hot resistor. NOW WITH PHOTO

Thanks for detailed explanation; that makes sense. Yes, fan will come on apparently spontaneously. The cooling fan comes on after using the oven as expected, but never switches off; I have to switch off the power to the oven. Then hours later I’ll switch power back on, and fan will start up...

Sorry, I see a photo in the above. Here it is again:

Bosch oven cooling fan comes on spontaneously; very hot resistor. NOW WITH PHOTO

Hi all, I have a Bosch oven with a cooling fan that will come on when it feels like sometimes for hours on end. I've had the top off, and found a resistor that looks burnt. This same resistor is burning hot to the touch even with the oven sat idle. The resistor seems to be part of a thermostat...

Thermostatic shower bar groans and pulses.

24hrs later and it's working fine! Hooray. Yesterday, after replacing the mains feed with a tank feed, I turned the shower on and had nothing at any temperature; I left it on and after over an hour it suddenly came to life. I was worried I'd have to repeat this after leaving it a day, but no...

Thermostatic shower bar groans and pulses.

As I sat at the computer, I heard the shower come to life. It took an hour for the shower to come on. Once it did it was a pretty decent pressure though.

Thermostatic shower bar groans and pulses.

Good point actually. Might see if I can track one down.

The mixer is thermostatic one; don't know about it being low pressure though. There are no isolator valves, unless you mean within the shower bar. I think my pressure is just not high enough to operate this particular thermostatic bar. Going to get a manual mixer bar I think (or just kill myself).

Update time: got a cold tank feed to the shower (instead of from the mains) and now it doesn't work at all; not a dribble at any temperature

Ah ok. I have another thermostatic shower at the same height but with a proper cold tank feed, and it works fine. So I'm hoping that bodes well for me not having a general low pressure problem. Soon find out.

Thermostatic shower bar groans and pulses.

Good tips. As it is, I can get the cold to come out no problem and with a lot of faffing about I can finally get the hot to come through too. This is with lots of back and forth on the temperature knob, and lots of groaning and pulsing from the bar. Then it works well for a shower. Leave it...

Yeah I think I'll bite the bullet and do it properly then by getting cold tank feed to it. I'll be gutted if I still have the problem though.
