Scantronic Ion15 - wiring an external sounder

Good tip, thanks that helped get it sorted, you were right the rear tamper sensor wasn’t making contact, made an extension for it and all sorted now. Have you any experience of this panel and radio keypads? Trying to get an additional one programmed to it but it just doesn’t detect it.

Scantronic Ion15 - wiring an external sounder

I haven’t physically removed it, just disabled it in the programming temporarily, assuming this would make it ignore the tamper switches?

Scantronic Ion15 - wiring an external sounder

Thanks, I did try putting the lid on in case that was it, but hadn’t connected the battery so I guess this might also give a fault? I’ll check the back tamper, good point. I’ve disabled the tamper on the panel for now just to see if that keeps it quiet. Should it sound when connected to the...

Scantronic Ion15 - wiring an external sounder

Hi All, I’ve got an Ion16 installed on a garage and have decided to fit a wired sounder due to crazy battery prices for the wireless one. I’ve wired it up as I think is correct but I have an issue where by the sounder goes off as soon as I connect the +ve hold off to the panel (red wire). The...

Would I need to upgrade to current regs?

So it sounds like I have to put a 30mA RCD at the house end, due to the cable in the wall which now can't be changed. If there was then another RCD in the barn, it's not that it's anything wrong, but it's simply duplication and there will be no guarantee as to which RCD would trip, am I...

Would I need to upgrade to current regs?

Well I thought I had planned it, by speaking to the electrican..... Really don't want to run it down the outside of the house, as it would look awful, and it's a 16th century listed stone house, it would also run half way up the house in the middle of the front elevation so really not ideal...

Would I need to upgrade to current regs?

Thanks for the replies. I'll certainly go back and challenge the guy to see what his logic was. How should I protect the cable in the wall? It's already buried under all of the lime plaster in a newly fitted kitchen so removing it and running in metal conduit or similar isn't really an option...

Would I need to upgrade to current regs?

The electrician suggested I should protect the cable going out to the barn with a 100mA RCD, this is due to the 10mm T&E that's running in an internal wall in the house down to a JB where it connects to the SWA, it then exits the house, and goes underground to the barn. The RCD in the barn will...

Would I need to upgrade to current regs?

Its about 10 or 15m, think the 10mm SWA I've run through was 20m long.

Would I need to upgrade to current regs?

Not living in it no, it'll be a workshop. Nothing wrong with the current board apart from a plastic front, it's a fairly big board though so would rather not change it unless really needed.

Would I need to upgrade to current regs?

Evening guys, I've got a consumer unit installed in a barn, it's a metal casing but has a plastic front. I'm planning to add a couple of circuits in the barn and also change the 6mm twin and earth on the catenary that's currently feeding the barn to an SWA that runs underground, RCD protected...

    Amazon selling dangerous lighting

Does anyone know of a light fitting that looks just like this that is safe? It's just what we're after but obviously would rather have a safe one. Thanks

    Noisy PRV

So they should be quiet then?

    Noisy PRV

Thanks for your replies. It's a Honeywell 22mm valve, installed horizontally. All valves are fully open. The pressure is set to 3.5 bar, before I reduced the pressure I think it was about 6 bar, maybe 7.
