Shower head holder / rail fell off wall. How to reattach

Thanks just looked there and everything you've said seems to be correct. Most difficult bit here seems to be the removal of what's left of the old screw. I assume this will likely be a screw into a raw plug so I'll likely need to get both out and replaced? Any best way of going about this?

Shower head holder / rail fell off wall. How to reattach

Hi all. Had a shower today and the rail that holds the shower head fell off. It seems odd, there is basically a small sharp spike sticking out the wall. Not sure if this is a disintegrated screw etc. Can't see much on the rail. Looking to reattach obviously (or replace) but don't know how to...

Astroturf over decking as a somewhat temporary measure

Hi all. I have a garden that's been fully decked across multiple levels by the previous owners. The reason they've done this is that the garden just slopes off at multiple angles. I've had some costs for ripping everything up, building retaining walls, filling in etc all to make good long term...

    Soon has knocked trv loose

Thanks that seems to have stopped the movement. Much appreciated. I'm terms of this type of situation , is there much chance of having caused much of an issue / risk of leaks etc?

    Soon has knocked trv loose

Hi all. My son decided to lie leaning against a trv valve this morning. He seemed to have knocked it loose, the valve head itself was turned, the trv was sitting at an angle and the grey locking ring was retracted upwards into the valve body. I've tried to reset it, I've twisted the trv...

Short thud noise from this area immediately after using flush button

Hi all. Tonight I have a new noise from the bathroom toilet. When pressing the flush button there is maybe a 2 second delay and then a short thud that I think is coming from this area highlighted below. Note that the water still appears to be filling so I guess that it's not a valve closing...

Looking for some help /ideas with installing downlighting on detached garage

Thanks for this. The rako solution looks excellent but potentially over specified for my needs. How's the range / signal strength on the system you have? I'm hoping to get something where I can sit in my living room which is at opposite side of the house and control these lights so effectively...

Looking for some help /ideas with installing downlighting on detached garage

Hi Yeah sorry its outdoors. It's more to just illuminate that side of the house and also garage area. It's noticeably dark there, so basically it's part decorative and part functionality Thanks

Looking for some help /ideas with installing downlighting on detached garage

Hi all I have a detached garage (it's a double garage, one side is my neighbours and the other is mine). I want to install downlights but looking for some ideas on best way to go about it and ideally some recommendations on kit to use. My thinking is that I'll install around 6 led downlights...

    Removing crabtree screwless faceplate sockets

Hi all. Just want to double check before I start the work and potentially run into issues. I need to change a crabtree screwless socket as it seems to sticking out from the wall. I assumed there would be a slot to put in a small screwdriver to pop the faceplate off and then there would be a...

Pre mixed adhesive for floor tiles replacement

Hi all My bathroom has a few cracked tiles that "rock" when being walked on and are loosening adjacent tiles.with my grand total of zero tiling experience in going to remove these damaged and loose tiles and replace them with some spares the previous owners helpfully left. I always find...

Mounting mirror in area of studs (load bearing wall)

Hi all Potential I'm overthinking this. My wife has bought a large sized (around 10-15kg) mirror. It will sit above a radiator and has to be aligned with it so no real scope to adjust position. I took a magnet to locate the wall studs (I think that's the right term , the wooden beams that make...

Path built half way up air brick. Can I sanity check my planned fix

Hi, I'm 99.9% sure they aren't as outwith of this path I can see the other bricks on this wall and they are all standard size. I also know that this path was built up in last few years so fairly confident that these are full size. Also, my main issue here is that during rain there will be water...

Path built half way up air brick. Can I sanity check my planned fix

Hi Not sure how best to describe the construction to be honest as it's the first normal/modernish (mid 90s) house I've lived in. It's built on a slope so this side is shallow to the ground level but the opposite side has a huge drop so is built up to about 5-6 feet with brick. I assume them...

Path built half way up air brick. Can I sanity check my planned fix

. Hi all, looking for a sanity check here. We bought a house last year and I noticed that on one side of the house the path has been built up and is partially covering 2 air bricks. There doesn't seem to be any specific issues in the inside, talking to neighbours this was done...
