    Bent uPVC door?

Struggling to latch my back door and on inspection there is a distinct bow. When closed, the top and bottom are tight against the seals but at the door handle there is a clear gap of maybe 5 mm. I hadn't appreciated that uPVC could warp. Is there away of straigtening the door? thank

    Rotting shiplap

It is insulated but must be some sort of airgap. Years ago I used Sadolin on my own barge boards and that has been successful. Can't believe merchants sell untreated shiplap. Why??!

    Rotting shiplap

I've been asked to advise a friend about replacing rotting shiplap. Problem is it all seems rotten. I The shed has been well painted with (expensive ) Cuprinol and is only about 10 years old. Surely the material should last better than this?

    sealed unit replacement dimension

Thanks for the input , guys. Pretty sure the glass is nothing special and 4mm seems a good bet. I'll go with the 28mm . 4+4+20

    sealed unit replacement dimension

HI I need to replace a blown unit so I've taken it out and measured it at 27mm depth. Replacements are available in increments of 2mm. Do I go for 26mm or 28mm? Thanks for reading

    Is this a stopcock?

A friend lives in a cottage in Dumfries and wants to isolate his water supply. Removing the lid of the access chamber reveals this bit of kit. I had expected a valve of some sort but have no idea what this is or how to operate it. Anyone know how it works?

    heater fan- blow or suck?!!

This is more a blog now than a request for help!:) Removed tonnes of stuff. The under bonnet scuttle - So I can see the air intake and clear daylight where the fan was Passenger side footwell duct . Clean and clear as new:) Radio and heater controls show the bowden cable is working fine...

The fan makes plenty of noise so I will take your advice and check fuses to start with. Maybe I'll get lucky:) Thanks everyone

    heater fan- blow or suck?!!

Many thanks for your careful and knowledgeable reply. And yes the fan is definitely the cylindrical cage type, not that the plug allows the wiring to be wrong. I've hunted without success for the mouse nest. :giggle: And I still reckon the recirc system should suck not blow. I'll keep thinking...

    heater fan- blow or suck?!!

Sorry I wasn't clearer. There is a motor driven hood or flap on top of the fan assembly and this opens when the re-recirculate switch is operated. This is where the cold air comes from when it is opened. Very little air comes out of the windscreen, foot well, face level vents, with any settings...
