Yeah I was thinking they were connected to the clock too.
Nothing on the left, but oh sorry I should add in case its not clear - the wires come up from the Nest from the *background* of this photo
Ah brilliant, I got in thanks to those instructions- thank you!
I took a few pictures there, is it just me or are the black and grey wires going nowhere? Might be hard to discern from the pictures but have a look
So the original Nest was missing the actual thermostat (presumably taken by the previous owners) so I have no idea if it worked or not, although the light on the heat link would blink so presumably it did.
On following the wires, I genuinely can't see how I can look without professional help (I...
We only moved into the house a few months ago and there was an old nest there, but we've only just replaced it.

Hi both,
The selector switch is turned to heating and hot water (which is what I meant by manually turning it on - that turns the heating on) and the timeclock is set to permanently on too.
Ive just swapped the grey and black wires but now the receiver wont turn on at all, so I guess the...
Hi there,
Just following up on this.
I set up my Nest hub, receiver and thermostat, and they are all communicating with each other and on paper seem to work - but neither the thermostat or the app seem to actually control the heating at all.
The boiler seems to just turn on or off depending...
