    Self Levelling Compound

Just for future reference for this product. Had a reply from the technical helpline and I should use an SBR primer. PVA should not be used. Epp.

    Self Levelling Compound

The thing is, I can't find any recommended primer. The product is No Nonsense Pro 50 Floor Levelling Compound from Screwfix. I cannot find a No Nonsense Latex Primer. Any other suggestions?

    Self Levelling Compound

Hi, I just bought some SLC and it says to use a Latex primer on porous surfaces. I'm not sure what they mean by a Latex Primer. I have PVA which I was hoping to use but do they mean something else? Can anyone recommend a Latex Primer for this purpose? Many thanks for any help. Epp.

    Expansion Vessel

Yes, it seems to be gradually deflating. i.e. over the course of a few days, when the CH comes on, it creeps closer and closer to 3 bar.

    Expansion Vessel

Hi, Why would an expansion vessel keep deflating? I have a Worcester 24LE combi where pressure was going over 3 bar. Engineer came out, checked the EV and pumped it back up. Everything fine for a few days then pressure starting going over 3 bar again. I pumped EV back up but same...

    Alternative Hardcore Sub Base

Thanks for the replies dann09. Much appreciated. rxbren - the flags are all in my house. I think this is how the ground floor is made up. Some have been screeded over, some have some mortar under and some just laid onto the ground.

    Alternative Hardcore Sub Base

I'm replacing a small section of floor in my house. At the moment there are uneven flag stones laid directly onto soil. I want to get rid of these and have a nice flat concrete base. Cheers.

    Alternative Hardcore Sub Base

Hi, I want to make a small concrete slab suitable for light footfall. Approx 2 sq.m. I don't want to buy a bulk bag of MOT1 so I was wondering if I could make up a small amount of hardcore using smaller bags of gravel, sharp sand etc. Cheers.

    False Ceiling

Hi, With regard to the wooden framework for a false ceiling, would it be safe to hang the cross beams from timber to masonry joist hangers which are fixed directly to the wall. As opposed to fixing the hangers to a wall plate. The size of the room is 2.5m x 4.5m and I will be fitting...

    Toilet Fill Valve

Hi, Just recently, my toilet fill valve has begun not shutting off completly, resulting in the cistern slowly filling up and overflowing into the pan. The toilet is less than a year old and has a dual push button flush. The fill valve looks to be of the diaghram float valve type. My...

    Replacing 3 radiators

Hi, I have a Worcester 24LE combi and 7 radiators. As most of the radiators are pretty old I was thinking of replacing 3 of them. I was wondering - when I take off the three radiators, drain them and replace them with new, the central heating system will now be 3 radiators full, short...
