    Fitting New Extractor Fan

Yes I have access to loft space above so I'll fit a junction box. Sadly, no room within body of fan so connection will need to be in the loft. The existing fan has its own switch - separate from the ceiling lights. Thanks for your reply. Euan.

    Fitting New Extractor Fan

I have an axial fan on the ceiling of an en suite shower room that has given up the ghost. The fan outlets to the roof via several meters of ducting pipe. Therefore I have decided to replace it with a centrifugal fan as I never felt the axial was up to the job. The fan itself runs from...

Villeroy and Boch Toilet seat fixing

I have the same problem with Vitra loo seat. I tried to tighten the screw but heard something drop into the body of the unit... Is there some fitting I can buy that will expand in the cavity of the unit to hold the seat in place? Any suggestions? Thanks.

What is my Oak table Finished with?

I have a table that I'd like to freshen up. It is covered with either a waxy or oil based finish - I'm not sure which. In some places I can see the bare wood where nothing has been applied at all - shoddy. In other places there are some glossy spots where I think whatever has been used has...

    Screeching Boiler!

(and I don't mean the mother in law...) Needed to bleed a radiator today. Released the air until water (thankfully clear) appeared. Later this afternoon noticed that all radiators were cold. Turned the downstairs thermostat as I though that the system had reached proper temperature. But...

    Help with dripping tap.

No the retainer clip was still firmly in its slot. Found the taps on the boiler. Turned the cold inlet and hot out just for good measure. Took the fitting off and disassembled to have a look. Re-assembled but still the same problem. The two internal rubber seals were badly corroded...

    Help with dripping tap.

Ist a vokera boiler. I was worried that if I started to dismantle the tap, I'd have water spurting everywhere.

Thank you. How about how to turn off hot water?

    Help with dripping tap.

When I try to turn my hot water tap off it doesn't 'catch'. If I continue to rotate it towards the off position it continues to turn and the water comes back on again. I've removed the caps and the hot tap fitting (on left) appears to be sitting proud compared to the cold tap. See the...

Central Heating problem. Water but no heat.

The two way valve has gone. There is power to it but its not responding. Heating is on (used the override lever) now until the valve is replaced. Thanks.

Central Heating problem. Water but no heat.

Having checked the pipework upstairs against the pictures on the 'definitions' page, I'd see we had a two port/zone valve.

Central Heating problem. Water but no heat.

Oh bugger I was scared this was going to get technical. I'm sorry, I don't know what all that means. How embarassing.

Central Heating problem. Water but no heat.

Hello. this is my first post and I have a problem with my boiler. It is gas, made by Vokera and it is model Mynute 28SE. The problem is that the hot water appears to be function correctly, ie the boiler springs into life when switched on, and I can see the pilot light. However, when I...
