    Is NAPIT part of NICEIC?

Thanks for the replies guys. I have gotten more advice and it seems we will have an argument to make as long as the electrician was competent and did the inspection to BS7671.

Quick and cheap flooring for cafe to last 6 months

I have a cafe with laminate flooring that recently had some water damage and needs replacing but we are having a full refit in 6 months with a whole new floor so just need to put in something cheap that can last us until then, preferably something I can do myself. Can anyone recommend anything?

    Is NAPIT part of NICEIC?

Damn… thank you for clarifying. I suppose all I can do is take this to them and see if they’ll accept it as an equivalent but being an insurance company I doubt it.

    Is NAPIT part of NICEIC?

My company is currently in the process of making an insurance claim (nothing to do with electrics) and the insurers have asked for an electrical installation inspection certificate (NICEIC). We last had an inspection done in October by a NAPIT registered electrician but in December our broker...

Weird walls with no studs in new build flat

Your points here have made me a bit concerned on an assumption I had before… The cavity space I found before IS on a partition to the apartment next door. I had assumed it would be the same with our internal bedroom partition wall that I intend to put the TV onto. Both walls are 100mm in...

Weird walls with no studs in new build flat

So the plasterboard itself is about 20mm thick. The cavity behind is about 50mm give or take. I don’t have much info about the metal uprights. The only reason I know they’re there is because I was drilling into the wall for another purpose and could see the edge of a metal strip on the inside...

Weird walls with no studs in new build flat

I‘ve drilled in and the plasterboard seems to be about 20-25mm… would need to double check though. Thanks. I’ve also read that the snap toggle fixings are good too. I feel like if I use enough of those I should be okay. I don’t think I can fix anything into the studs seeing as they’re metal…...

Weird walls with no studs in new build flat

Yes. I thought that on an initial search but then a few characteristics people mentioned don’t line up (not old, no egg box behind from what I can see, and seemingly no wooden studs) — although I’ve just found you can have metal studs, so I think it must be this. Guess I’m gonna have to use...

Weird walls with no studs in new build flat

I’ve just moved into a brand new flat built at the start of this year and it seems to have weird walls I’ve never seen before. The plasterboard are these massive sheets that are double the thickness of regular plasterboard, and there’s no wooden studs, just metal frame struts every so often...

Want to put integrated microwave into brand new kitchen cabinets

Thanks. I’ve already sent them an email so will wait to see what they say. We threw it out cause it was rusted all over.

Want to put integrated microwave into brand new kitchen cabinets

Hi all, My gf and I just bought a new build flat that has a fancy Masterclass Kitchens kitchen with built-in appliances. Unfortunately there’s very little counter space and we also just threw out our old microwave, so I’m thinking of putting in a new integrated microwave in the cabinet above...

Should I put dishwasher tee valve before or after double check valve?

Thanks Hugh. I didn’t realize it would cause an issue but just watched this video which covered the subject quite thoroughly actually! I knocked on the door of another flat in the building earlier that had the dishwasher pre-installed by the builder and they kindly let me look under their sink...

Should I put dishwasher tee valve before or after double check valve?

Hello all. I’ve just moved into a new build flat that has a waste and electrics for a dishwasher but no cold feed. Site manager said I could add one in myself and I’ve got a washing machine tee valve but not sure where I should put it as there are double check valves on the feeds to the mixer...

Options for replacing an entombed freestanding cooker?

Thanks OwainDIYer. I think that’s a good option and allows for a full 60cm unit to go in.
