thank you mike will there be a stoptap on the combi boiler boiler for stopping water or will it be just a matter of turning the main water supply of via mains stop tap

I am plumbing a mixer shower in my brothers house. I was going to fit an electric shower but thought it easier to fit a mixer as he has a combi boiler. Can I tap straight into the pipes that feed either his bathroom sink or bath with a t fitting ? Any dos or dont. All advice...
