    Moving a plug socket

I want to move a plug socket a metre up the wall. Because of the way the cable runs it obviously won't reach. I will need to join the cable to run to the new plug, I won't be adding a plug just replacing the one I have. Unless it is simple I don't plan to do myself, but always find it...

Two Bristan showers and a pump

3 years ago I had two Bristan showers fitted (Prism, surface mounted) running off a pump. Shower 'a' gets used all the time, shower 'b' (as its the kids) doesn't. Recently I have noticed the pump turns it self on and off briefly. Having read the instructions it indicated a potential...

Advice on a very dodgy double glazing fit

Following on from my noise trials and tribulations, one of the windows in the bathroom started to develop water inbetween the windows. In the last 3 or 4 months the other 3 b/room windows have done the same and a bedroom window is misted up. Could these issues be down to the fit, I am...

Kahrs Wood Floor (15mm cornwall), expansion gaps or not....

ok thanks, useful but not what I wanted to hear! Most skirting board is 9mm thick, almost all kahrs I have seen laid has smaller gaps to the wall as its only the skirting board covering it, so is any gap ok or does it really need to be 10mm min, I really don't want to get into laying beading...

Kahrs Wood Floor (15mm cornwall), expansion gaps or not....

Am laying the above. The instructions do not give any indication that there is a need for expansion gaps, but most forums indicate there should be. I have a few areas where I could do with butting up (within a few mm), for example aournd some door frames, where it is near on impossible to...

cutting door frame to fit wood floor under

Hi I am in the process of laying some Karhs oak. I have the skirting off and want to create a gap at the bottom of the door frames to slide the wood under to avoid any beading. What is the best type of tool to do this and where can I buy one. In relation to the skirting, other than...

    Gate to a fence post

ok i see, keep the existing post but secure it to the wall with the brace. hmmm, will need to think on that. Didn't think about that lump of concrete, was planning on use a metal spike and fixing the two posts together, but maybe the brace will be easier and quicker?
