Update: I removed the battery and charged it again overnight. This morning I checked the battery voltage under load (an old car headlamp) 12.4 volts. I refitted it to the bike, started the engine and it was idling normally. It looks like the ECU just needed a reboot.

Wow, I didn't even know this technology existed in 2011! My 2020 Dacia Logan has this system but it seems to operate on a random basis and didn't do it at all the first time I drove it. I can't see a switch for turning it off and my owners manual is in Slovenian, which I don't speak.
