    Covering concrete garage

It also mentions in this post about drilling into these panels can lead to them breaking and knackering drills.

    Covering concrete garage

Morning, I have recently done a complete rescape of our garden and it is looking lovely. However, we have one of those pre.formed concrete garages which has pebble dashed sections. I've tried drilling into this for a hanging basket but it is rock solid and the drill bit just wore out very...

    Attaching new fence panel

Thanks for this suggestion, it worked a treat and looks like its a new fence and not a cover up job! Relatively easy to do too.

How to taper a decking board

I can get a new hand saw and I'm pretty patient but I don't have any clamps. It's just one board that needs this cut. Is it likely the timber merchant would be able to cut this for me (I'd be buying the board from there)? How would be best to mark it up - take measurements throughout the...

How to taper a decking board

Hiya, I'm just wondering how best to cut a decking board which tapers (ie wider at one end, tapering to a width about 1.5cm narrower at the other end)? Would the timber merchant be able to cut this for me if I gave them the measurements (they don't open till Tuesday)? If so, is there a way I...

    Attaching new fence panel

Hi, First time poster so please go easy on me! Is it possible to attach new lap panels to the existing posts to cover the old panels - ie screwing new panels to the face of each post. This is instead of replacing the old fencing as the neighbours don't want to replace it and neither of us...

    Replacing pull light cord

Is there a way to make a pull cord look or sound a little less horrible!?

    Replacing pull light cord

Thanks. There’s no fan so it’s just the light. I’ll take a look at sensor switches.

    Replacing pull light cord

A bath with shower taps and toilet - both at other end of the room.

    Replacing pull light cord

Hi, In the house we’ve just bought, the bathroom is a flat roof extension. The light is a horrible cord type. Is it possible to somehow replace this with a wall switch even though the wiring isn’t easily accessible? Would it require the ceiling and/or tiled wall to be removed? Thanks.

Green paint on old internal wall (Ed.)

Thanks. I spent all day yesterday scraping off the flaking bits of green paint but this morning, it’s like I’ve never done it - there’s loads of flaking edges appeared overnight. Can I still put lining paper over these flaking edges (ie will the paste stick them down again?) or will it be a...

What to use to fill hole

Thanks. Yes, condensation was a big issue but measures are now in place to prevent it being a problem. Never thought about expanding foam, I was going to use one of the polyfilla type ‘deep fillI’ ones.
