I`m tempted to put down a upvc strip like what is sometimes put around the frames to cover up the cavity. But with the bevelled edge I dont know if that would be difficult to carpet up to. Maybe a nice piece of wood...
Having just taken up some laminate flooring I would like to carpet the living room but cant decide if I should put some kind of edging strip on the floor up to the patio doors. I have filled in the cavity in the floor with cement but I`m wondering if it would be wise to not have the carpet...

A pipe to a radiator in my front room runs quite close to the floor, about 10mm clearance. Do you think the carpet fitters will be able to tuck the carpet under this? I`m quesing they will fit the carpet grips in front of the pipe so there will be no underlay to tuck under also...
OK, I`ll try that, thankyou. Is this a good place to start for all the radiator lockshield valves? I just set them all to about 1/2 turn from fully open?

ok, I`ll have to look at the cistern a little closer. It really is slow at filling so maybe it has the high pressure fitting still in slowing it down even more.
