    Power cuts & Generators.

I just got a reply from Bosche "Dear Sir, Thank you for your enquiry, because the appliance incorporates complex electronics, the inventor should be a true sine wave type. The appliance consumes 300w in normal operating conditions. This is a theoretical recommendation. We have never...

To quote from their advert "A lightweight, low noise generator with Pure Sine Wave Technology Ideal for providing a ready source of electrical power when, for example, out camping, caravanning, or enjoying a boat trip. The 'Pure Sine Wave Technology' controlled electrical output ensures the...

Now you are talking my language. Its a red 3A. :) It that rating I guess it does not draw much power. Am I correct in assuming that if a battery is a 24 Amp Hour the battery should last 24/3 8 hours life min? Or have I oversimplified that?

What I am suggesting is no more than a complicated extension lead. Also I would be unplugging the boiler/pump from the mains and plugging it into that extension lead. The outdoor connection would be of the correct type, I am not quite that daft  However I am now looking at going...

    Power cuts & Generators.

I have just looked up a UPS I cannot see them being of any use to me. I am not really interested in stopping the interuption just restoring the central heating boiler and a light. I was thinking of putting up an out door plug. Putting a cable through the cavity wall and up into the attic...

    Power cuts & Generators.

Thanks for that. I have already worked out I can use a torch and a calor gas heater in a power cut :) But I am talking about a backup power supply and mainly its the heating I am concerned with. Ideally I would like to be able to go outside start up/switch on something and get the central...

Hi guys like many others i experienced power cuts over the last week. It is quite difficult for us because my wife is in a wheelchair and gets cold real quick. So the thought of buying a portable generator to run a few lights and heating devices sprung to mind. The easiest way (I...
