Hi endecotp, thank you I would not have known that detail. I guess I should look at the whole waste then. Forgive the daft question, but could I just remove the bit of the waste connected to the sink and replace it with the bit from the mcalpine waste that has the two waste bits on it (spigot?)...
Thank you jj4091, there was another one I saw with isolation bits in it, would that achieve the same thing https://www.screwfix.com/p/flomasta-y-piece-connector-3-4-/612fa
Hey folks, hope you are having a nice Bank Holiday?
Could anyone offer me advice on this before I buy anything please? I attached the hoses for a friend's washing machine a little while back and now she has bought a dishwasher.
She asked me to have a look and there are no more inlets or...
Hey folks,
Hope you are well all having a nice Sunday. I switched my tyres over to the summer ones and I have a pair that are 9 years old so I know they need replacing after one more season.
I noticed some crazing, do you folks think I should get them replaced now? There is plenty of tread...
Hi endecotp,
Thank you for that. I'm not doubting the qualifications of the presumably competent person who did the report. The concern was the report was from 2015 and there are broken tiles in places.
Thanks tiger, they are confirmed to contain asbestos as my friend was given a copy of an asbestos survey from 2015.
She is going to put down flooring but we were both a bit nonplussed about how dismissive she was.
Hey folks,
Hoping you lovely people could share a bit of wisdom please?
My friend just moved into a council house and there are tiles throughout the downstairs which are confirmed as asbestos. They don't look in great condition (to me) and my friend is concerned.
I spoke to the housing...
I didn't use any glue for fixing the firrings, just screws and countersunk the ones where the firrings got thicker.
I'm not sure I'd trust glue on its own but I'm only a diyer so one of pros might suggest otherwise.
You'll fix your firrings to the joist first and then the OSB on top so the screws will pass through to the joist at the thinner end. Towards the thicker end make sure the firrings are adequately fixed to the joist where your screws won't reach the joist.
Alternatively you could use longer...
Hi Reg, thanks for the suggestion, I managed to chisel out a bit of a channel and put a glazing packer on each joist. Its not the best but at least its not resting on The pipe and doesn't make noise. I think it may be time for new boards in he new year.
Cheers
