The curent cooker is a solid plate 4 "ring" oven with high level grill. I'm not sure of its power rating but I think it is on 6mm2 cable with 32amp MCB.
The cable runs in surface mounted mini-trunking.
MIL is in her 80's and I do not think would cope with a change to "new-fangled"...
Mother in Law has recently had a grant supported rewire.
They have resited the cooker switch in its original location - directly above the old cooker which had a high level grill.
This cooker has now failed and needs to be replaced. It is only 50cm wide and I can find no high leevl grill...

We are in the process of redecorating our Hall Stairs and Landing. This has involved removing the "boxing in" of the original ballisters (its a 1920's house). Looking at the age of the decor I would guess this was done more than 40 years...
Flotex has been good, but its 10 years old and showing it - difficult to de dog hair!!
Although there is a radiator in there I am told (by BG) that the piping is only just big enough for the current load. AND form what I can see it will very significantly raise the floor.

I have a small split load CU in my garage that has become inaccessible due to clutter. There is sufficient cable to move without disconecting anything - but obviously needs to be isolated to work safely.
Its supplied by T+E in conduit from the main house CU and covered by a 40amp MCB...
