    ...and as if by magic the shopkeeper appeared. Well not quite hot water actually and tons of it. Turned off power to unit. Detached the unit and as I did the spring sprung back. Re-attached with the lever (being spring loaded now). Turned power on, switch on heating 10mins later hot water...

    I'll post back. I propose detaching the valve if possible to see if the spring structure is fecked. If I cant detach it then it's a job for Professional Services,

    Thanks for thhe link, according to that (and also it helped by looking at the inside cover) I have a Sundial Y plan with a V4073(x) valve. So I can test power to it at least and I know a lot more about my set up.

    Ok, well with the cover off and moving the lever, there is no sign of action from the cogs(I presume there should be?). As for the pump and power, just an educated guess at the wiring looking at its setup, but hey what do I know...

    Apologies MOD (newbie mistake!!) The lever does not spring back. A) Should be power as it's also powering the pump(Grundfos) B) Fair enough C) The thing by the cylinder and venting mmmm do you mean the pump?

    Doesn't appear to be moving, is it spring loaded or summat. Moving as in side to side?
