Well, I heard them quote him £12 for the part on the phone and he wanted almost £200 for what both he and several other people quoted as 10 or 20 minutes work. I really don't find that reasonable, particularly when he needs to borrow my screwdrivers and tools as he hasn't bought any.

As I said, I'll have a read through the information tonight. If I genuinely feel that it is beyond me, then I guess I'm sticking to cold water until I can actually find a reasonable/normal plumber. I am still on the lookout anyways, as I plan to completely remodel my bathroom before Christmas !
