Unfortunately what I didn't show in the picture is a catch in the middle of the front edge of the glass, to hold it down whilst travelling. This means that the glass must come down to contact the front edge - any grommet or bump stop which stood proud would prevent the lid going down far enough...

Hi all. Does anyone know where (if) I can get hold of a soft close damper (not full hinge) which is 25mm or shorter? I need to fit one in a tiny gap, and the smallest I can find is a 35mm cylinder with a 47mm mounting adapter. Thanks!
