    Thanks for that. I’m going to get an electrical check done in the next couple of months and have anything sorted as required. It was a matter of whether the current set up was useable or whether I’d have to start going further before the check.

    Thanks for the answer. It’s not necessarily hard to replace but it will be awkward and frustrating. RCD is on CU I’ve already put the new socket and cable in place, it was whether connecting 2.5mm to 1.5mm in the original socket protected by 16amp breaker would be a problem?
