Is this a resonable quote to fit a kitchen

He came over had a look around gave a quote of what he we roughly wanted. Then got howdens in to do the design, I know he does usually charge even more then this and people say he works to a high standard. We are in a hurry to get the house ready so we can move in, so I stupidly half...

Is this a resonable quote to fit a kitchen

Theres cornice and pelmets, but no tileing as far as I know. He quoted with out seeing the kitchen design from the designer as well. I've cleared out the kitchen and had it all rewired so shouldn't be any major problems. (Other then the stupid gas meter being in the way)

Is this a resonable quote to fit a kitchen

I thought it included skimming the ceiling to get rid of artex but that's in another quote and it looked expensive considering the units other then the larders are pre built.

Thanks for the reply, just normal howdens laminate stuff with a square edge. What do you think is the rough price I should be looking for.

Fitting Solid Oak Flooring in Winter

Thanks you've been really helpfull. I thought that a damproof above the floorboards was a bad idea. So 14mm seem to have 2-4 mm wear layer, so I want to avoid the thiner top layer.

Is this a resonable quote to fit a kitchen

Hi had a howdens kitchen designed and priced up which came to around £4000 + appliances. The builder has quoted £2100 to fit it and reducing a section of boxing under the stairs, this does not incude any electrics or plumbing . I've already removed the old kitchen so it's all ready to go. Is...

Fitting Solid Oak Flooring in Winter

Got some samples, all seem very nice. But what thickness of board would you recomend cost is an issue but want to do it right. The samples vary between 14-21mm and have upto 6 mm of real oak on top. Some also come with a free foam underlay 3mm with damp proof layer is this sufficient as you...

Fitting Solid Oak Flooring in Winter

Thanks, for the replys :) So it looks like engineered may be the way to go, I will get some samples and see if we can find some with a nice finish, although my girlfriend is pretty keen on solid oak. With solid oak I don't understand how the expansion works if it's nailed down so maybe if I...
