what a living nightmare... i got a new boiler glow worm beta com..same boiler, whiped it off swapped it..got gas engineer to commision..job done 465 all in as he felt sorry for the prelonged agony and miss diagnosis.. got boiler at trade we will never know fault..no one did...!!!! but was...

it mite not of been...it was brown and did see some x100 nearby any way system did run clean either way after!!! I think this proves this is a rare and tricky fault for 2/3 engineers still not able to come up with a fault diagnosis as yet!!! so i assume a diverter valve has never been...

UPDATE have had the sytem trerated with x100 to break down deposite mainly in main exchange as we beleived this was causing the hot water to cut in and out..as some will no after a lot of time and parts we came to this action.. system ran clean and we put it through each rad.... so...

Thanks again he defo checked impellers..thats all i can say, not shure what checks. hopefully the flush/clean will happen thursday, i will mention the burner pressure, the diverter valve too etc..... Ill let all now the out come..fingers crossed.

Also to add.. pump was checked for damaged or blockages by the numpty engineer, said all was fine...(£40 later)

b.g chap didnt check burner pressure because almost straight away he said a blockage is present. (which they dont cover,due to dirty system whicj is fair enough) blockage in In either main exchange (which has come up most) diverter valve!! or secondary plate heat exchange ...but...

Hi all (again) british gas have come and gone..... defo a blockage in main exchange or diverter valve!!! he could tell straight away, I also left out old heat exchange, which he looked at and flilled with water,blow down it and load off metal deposits (brassy) came out..terrible...

Fair play it lookes like i hired a duffer..lol :( so if its a fairly common fault what is the main cause, again out of interest as i know you need to see the boiler.... will i be likely to see a final cure with b.gas comming tomorrow ??

hi there i really coudn't say.. if that was terrible out would that affect the boiler dramatically even when on warm levels. if i was to turn it up, the lights and water temp do go up, but as i said just over heats after couple mins (with sensor out, c.h) ill bring that up, britsh gas...

thanks again. ill look into a fixed price call out fom a main company. the boiler flush offer came from a gas safe registerd engineer who would do it privatley hence cheap price. was a mates brother. I still may not go for that option, as i could save £50 if its not a blockage...

i do agree looking back on it £200 notes would of been great if it fixed fault.spent 230 all in so far...but would that of inc parts!! the engineer said i could of looked further in to it..but said i could spend hour n hours trying to find fault..and still not git anywhere..because the two...

Firstly it the c.h sensor on left hand said of main exchange that has been replaced,tested (when in situ) and made no difference.. The only reason its been left un cliped is we are NOT using central heating and the boiler only gives us hot water with it out, insteasd of hot water intermitent...

no idea on how dirty, but he said after 4 years the system (boiler end)looks great v clean..(hence he finds it hard to believe main is blocked). not paying for a full clean..no way..not till boiler is defo fixed. it was h.w thermister i think. it does this in all modes..just running on hot...

dont think so..but boiler operates fine if kept to a lower heat with c.h sensor removed.. a fair few people beleive its a flow problem (build up .e. a foriegn body or breakage in main heater exchange, not usuall secondary xchng as that sbeen replaced) or outside chance pcb..!!!! pcb would...
