    Identifying 10mm\16mm T &E

What would relevant testing involve ? I have been able to inspect the cable all the way back to the CU and it looks in good condition, but you are suggesting that the materials in it might degrade ?

Thanks to ALL for their help. I think it most definitely the larger imperial. So apart from the obvious thing that I need to buy a pair of calipers  Can I get away with reusing this cable - do I have to replace it under the regs ?- it does actually fit my new cooker switch, so if I...

    Identifying 10mm\16mm T &E

That's exactly the sort of thing I am worried about - 1) thicker sheathing & 2) differences in the imperial sizes (which it is undoubtedly). Judging form other posters it could well be the 7/0.064 -= that strands do seem to be 1/16" which is near as dammit. Here's a photo. Once thing...

Unfortunately I don't have any calipers, but each strand is definately well over the 1.5mm. The total width of each conductor is approx 7mm. Th einsulation is about 1mm

    Identifying 10mm\16mm T &E

I realise this question has been asked before, and looking at these posts I am beginning to realise that what I thought was 10mm, might actually be 16mm T &E. Is there any way to be definite ? We're basically putting in a new kitchen, however the existing cooker cable (on a 45A fuse) is very...

    Connecting to Black Alkathene Pipe

I have to put a UV filter into my private water supply. I've now received it and it included all the fittings I require to put it together including filter cartridges etc, upto and including 2 x hepworth pushfit 22mm in & out valves. So far so good - however this has to go outside (no room in...
