hi, i have a genie dvr that i got off ebay around 6 months ago. its worked fine but now its showing no hdd and no data on play back. After powering up and down a couple of times it seemed to work again and ive just checked it again now and its saying no hdd. Could i replace this hard drive...

This will still work it will just come on when you switch your light on and go off when you switch off just put the live into the switch live terminal.

I have had this once before in a house but it was the whole house not just 1. it was a end terrsce which was the first to be supplied and incoming voltage was 250v instead of 240v i simply changed the lamps in the house to 250v which you can get from b and q and the lamps have been fine scince

If its how im picturing it then you will alrady have an earth in your plastic cielling rose witch you are leaving up so you would either remove from plastic 1 and place in the metal 1 or add an additional earth wire from your plastic 1 to your metal 1 and im assuming that its a 3 way connector...

you get what you pay for with cctv. cameras depend on what you need to see really if you are willing to pay a bit more for a couple of mega pixel cameras then i would strongly suggest that you do. with dvrs DM or Vista are quite good and its worth looking on ebay as many engineers swap perfectly...

there are many systems deppending on how big your house is these can range from £250 fully installed or you could ask the current supplier to cancle your police contract. you could even have a speech dialler or in simpler terms a device that calls your mobile phone when your alarm is going off

you can sometimes tell the battery dates even if not marked mate by looking on top of them there should be a couple of numbers eg, 123408 the last 2 digits are normally the year. im a fire engineer and it definately sounds like the batts. nice reply to alarm aswell :P

zones 1 and 2 are normally already set up as entry and timed anyway mate incase you need to pass 2 sensors indoors to turn the alarm off.

hi im sure that zones 7 and 8 can be used but not 100% certain when i install them i normally just link the last couple out as they arent big systems but i remember seeing a fire terminal on the top of the board not on the actual zones.
