    Concrete Floor

I'm in the process of laying a new base in an extension. Before I get hold of the building inspector for advice, I thought I'd try here first. I understand that the normal procedure is to lay celotex/kingspan over the concrete block before screeding. My questions is can I lay the...

    Hob Installation

Hi, The instructions I have show two types of installation labled 1N and 2N. The one I used, as described in my question, appears to show all three lives looped, although there isn't any extra copper to achieve this, although I can use some cooker cable to achieve this is suppose. The other...

    Hob Installation

Hi All, I've just installed a hob but only two rings are working - Looking at the wiring diagram it looks like Earth Terminal - L1-L2-L3 Terminals - Neutral Terminal I've only added the live to L1. Is this my problem? Should all three be looped together? Regards John

All Weather Plug Socket with Neon Switch

Hi All, I picked up an all weather plug socket with a neon switch. I assumed that it would be the same as a normal socket, i.e. e/l/n in the right place, but this one has a neon switch which would appear to be similar to a light switch, i.e. L1 L2 and 2 terminals on the top. Am I right that I...

    Mastic Mess

Hi, I've just removed an old conservatory from the back of the house and where it joined the house, it has left long lines of brown mastic. I've tried using mastic eater, but that hasn'et really helped apart from making a mess. Any ideas how to remove it?
