Thanks. No voltage at all. When running it records 240v or so, but nothing when I check after it switches off. I’ll try a new one. I did wonder about the fan, but there’s plenty of clearance around it and no noise when it is spinning.
My multimeter doesn’t have a capacitance function, but am I right in thinking the capacitor should be charged and register voltage when the boiler is idle?
this is what happens. Any ideas most likely cause. Burner locks out. I press the reset and can hear the fan is not spinning. I remove the burner and fan cover to check motor isn’t seized. It’s not and I spin the fan by hand put back together press reset and it fires and heats up correctly. When...
No, not tripped the rccb before, but has locked out a few times over last few months. Heating circuit goes through a type 1 mcb, but this doesn’t trip, only the main consumer unit rcd immediately after call for heat. Not certain but I think this means an earth leak is responsible. Earlier reply...
Thanks. Just tried it and still tripped so not the burner after all. Also without the noise I could hear crackling behind panel in the picture before it tripped and smell burning. Appreciate your help.
Hello. Burner immediately trips the rccb when call for heat is initiated. Circulation pump and other wet side components are not causing this as work fine when boiler power is off. An earth leak in the burner but any ideas how I find out what exactly, or what is most likely to cause this. Boiler...
Burner generally works but locks out at random times on restart when hot and cold. When locked out it sometimes restarts after pressing burner reset button, but not always. When locked out the motor/fan doesn’t even start to spin before burner locks out again. It seems that gently tapping the...
