Quote for UFH combi boiler work

Does this mean that when the UFH is calling for heat then the upstairs radiators would not receive hot water? Wouldn't that leave the upstairs cold all winter??

Quote for UFH combi boiler work

Thanks for the info. Seems to me they are a bit overpriced given that they are not laying down any of the UFH pipe, only the flow and return to the manifold and installing the valves.

Quote for UFH combi boiler work

As part of a rear extension job I have asked for my combi boiler to be prepped for UFH, ie. split the upstairs and downstairs loops and install valves. I've been quoted £860 for the following: "Combi boiler & underfloor heating conversion To split heating system into 2 zones 1 for underfloor...

    Roof timber deterioration (Ed.)

Thanks The light spots have only appeared in the last 6-12 months and are powdery to touch (we've been in the property 14 yrs). Could they be insect related? The loft conversion was done 2017.

    Roof timber deterioration (Ed.)

Thanks No it's not damp, in fact the wood seems very dry. The patches are powdery to touch and have appeared in the last 6-12 months - am slightly concerned they could be insect related and therefore prone to spreading to other rafters...

    Roof timber deterioration (Ed.)

Hi - I live in a 1920s terraced house with a loft conversion. Inside the front eaves space, which is used for storage, there is a crossbeam running the whole width of the house about 3ft above the loft floor level. I have noticed growing patches of light dusty wood on the beam, and splits along...

Neighbour's roof - how dodgy is it?

Not sure if money has changed hands or not, but basically speaking my neighbour politely doesn't give a s**t. I've told him twice in a month that water is seeping into my house since he had the work done, and that he should think about having the whole thing looked at, and all he says is "sorry...

Neighbour's roof - how dodgy is it?

The previous roof was at the level of the vanilla-coloured concrete (is it concrete?). I'm not sure if they took the old tiles off or not as I wasn't paying much attention at the time, but one thing for sure is that the roof is now twice the height from my roof as it was before. I don't know...

    Ok. That doesn't sound encouraging...

Neighbour's roof - how dodgy is it?

Next door neighbour had a new roof fitted several weeks ago (I think they put a load of new tiles and cement on top of the existing tiled roof) and straight away I had rainwater seeping through the roof of my front porch where our (terraced) houses join. Even to my amateur eye it looks like a...

    Inside my front porch

I have shaded where the majority of the seepage occurs. Water collects into a fairly large pool on a worktop below.

I fitted the drainpipe elbow to take water away from the edge where it was flowing freely.
