    Armitage shanks shower leak

Thanks for that, just seen the pic is on its side! Actually, the leak is coming from the actual unit, so dripping from the bottom of the 'knob' you turn around.

    Armitage shanks shower leak

Hi, I have this old shower (pic attached) and have a leak coming out from the bottom of the unit. I was thinking (hoping) it maybe a worn o ring issue? Problem is, I have no idea how to get inside - any ideas? Also, if I can get inside do I need to shut the water off.....I take it thats the...

    Dying Dishwasher

Hi, I have a proline dishwasher that is two years old and keeps tripping the RCD. I have tried turning everything else off, replacing fuses but it still happens. It does run for about five mins but then trips everything again. My feeling is that it is probably dying - any thoughts please...

    WIRING A COOKER

Phoned a local electrician up to see if he can do this for me but no joy before xmas - also tells me I cant put a socket on the front of this box as it spurs off to the hob socket. He also says I will need to run another spur to a seperate location in order to put a socket there. And I thought...

    WIRING A COOKER

Thank you Steve - so that confirms I need a new socket, so how do I connect that to the previous supply if it also has a spur running from it ie. there are 6 wires coming in the top and there were 3 coming out the bottom (connected to the old oven). Problem is the new socket wont physically fit?

    WIRING A COOKER

Thanks - I will take a look. The old oven was hard wired to its own circuit - I was worried the new oven could be damaged in some way by taking the plug off and hardwiring to what I already have.

    WIRING A COOKER

Hi, Just purchased a new electric built in oven with a gas hob. To my surprise it has a 13 amp plug on it - I was expecting to wire it up the same as the old one. Problem is I only have a single socket available that is needed for the plug from the hob. Can I take the plug off the oven and wire...
