It was losing 0.1 bar over 30 days. After some work on the boiler including the fitting of a new pump, it is now losing 0.1 bar over 7 days. The only possible sign of leaking is a salt deposit (white/flaky) on a 21 mm nut under the boiler on the left hand side.
Well, 2+ years on and I still have a very minor leak which has still not been detected despite other more noticeable boiler leaks and replacement parts to the boiler.
Any ideas?
Thanks! I still think somehow working on the boiler caused this, but hey ho.
Just checked my paperwork and bottom right valve was replaced January 2010; I guess it's the left valve's turn now. As I had to buy a pair of valves back then, I still have a brand new replacement one. Phew.
Cheers.
I'm sure this happened before....
Gloworm 30 cxi boiler showed evidence of leaking occasionally losing pressure from 1.0 bar to 0.6 bar. The diverter and AAV have been replaced by a gas engineer from Valaint Group and the expansion vessel charged.
Within 20 minutes of leaving, the...
Thanks for the excellent advice twgas and for cocurring spikebmth ;-)
The advice re contractual route clearly comes from a very wise head!
Cheers again.
I followed the advice given and detected no leaks.
However, today, 5 mins before the CHS was due to come on I noticed a weeping valve at the top of the towel rail downstairs. It was such a tiny amount of water which 20 mins after the CHS had been on, it has evaporated.
I guess it is only...
Thanks for the advice. I have checked the radiator valves and it seems dry under the boiler. I'm not sure where the prv pipe is. I have included a picture if that helps.
Ok thanks for this. What are the iso valves and the prv pipe please?
BTW I have plastic flexipiping under the floorboards. I have informed that if these were leaking, then the pressure drop would likely be a lot more.
I have a Gloworm 30cxi boiler which was fitted 2 years ago with a brand new central heating system. It is located downstairs.
I noticed that it was losing pressure (Sept 2009) and found a leak under the boiler. The central heat pipe returning to the boiler was leaking and has been tightened...
