Blown PCB - Ideal ICOS M3080 - am i being fleeced?

Could someone let me know if £700 for a total replacement of the PCB on the above boiler model (including a £60 +vat callout charge) sounds reasonable? It just sounds like a lot of money. Before tax and callout its £533.

    Slurry and slabs?

Thanks that's great. I've had slabs popping up and it looks like the water is being sucked out of the mix into the slab and concrete floor. I'm hoping using this slurry method will stop it happening.

    Slurry and slabs?

When putting cement slurry onto a slab/concrete surface should it be left to dry before laying the slabs or must it be wet?

    Neat cement slurry

I put a patio down a few years ago. It was directly onto concrete. I used a 3:1 wet mix. Once it had dried some of the slabs started to come up. Then some more. I reckon about half in the end. Due to other projects and the fact it annoyed me only now am i thinking of giving it another go. I hear...

    Tips for unpasted lining paper

Assuming I've got the paste how can it be applied to a 3inch by 2inch flap on the side of a piece of paper? Sorry if this sounds a bit lame but never done it before and I don't want to start slapping paste all over the place or removing a whole strip of paper.

    Tips for unpasted lining paper

Cos I'm a rubbish wallpaperer I got a more experienced person in to do my hall and landing. They're not professional and quite proud of what they've done. However, now they've finished there's a few edges that seem not to have been fully pasted down and have come away from the wall. They're very...

Best way to prep for glossing woodwork?

I am due to gloss skirtings etc. However they are not in the best of condition. They have been chipped and I'm concerned that just sanding and painting over will still show up the different levels of paint on the woodwork. Any tips, other than stripping back the skirtings completely please? :)

    window boards/sills

Not sure if this will help but try Stamco.co.uk. They are based out of Hastings but deliver to Berkshire. They would provide whatever you needed but if it's in small amounts you'd need to check on delivery etc.

    NEED HELP QUICK PLS !

You wouldn't need the spray paint either as it would not have been painted previously! However, size is important...... :D

    NEED HELP QUICK PLS !

Hi I painted some cupboard doors when I moved in 5 years ago. It was a spray paint that did give a good finish and was easy to apply. Best to take doors off and do outside though. However, because the doors themselves were so ugly no amount of paint could make them better. I then decided to...

    Treating Internal Pine Doors ?

I have had some decent pine doors fitted through the house and have used Danish Oil on them. It brings out the knots in the wood. It will change colour in time but only for the better. It will not turn the doors orange as I had been advised previously. A very good finish all round and good for...

    Polycell Smoothover Good or Bad??

I used a ready make mix (shock horror) from Wickes on a wall and it worked really well. But I'm unsure if it would be any good over stipple artex (really deep). On small areas perhaps. What do you reckon?

    Gripper rods on stairs......?

Great thanks for that. Forewarned is forearmed. I'm hoping to use a smaller shop, it's more expensive but it has been recommended. On carpets I've had fitted in the past they always want you to sort out the clearance of the floor and the presence of the gripper rod. Would you expect a good...
