    Squirrels

Isn't there any man-made squirrel food that contains neutering compounds so they can't breed? :(

    Oven and Hob upgrade

Hello holmslaw, Please would you give further details on why an electric hob is worse than a gas one. I'm just about to get the former! Thank you.

    Electric Shower - basic questions

The key word is 'replacing' - replacing fixed equipment is not notifiable. What's notifiable and not notifiable is covered on p.8 of Approved Document P (see link, and download section of resulting page) http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/england/professionals/en/4000000001253.html

    RCD or Switch First

Thanks for the reply :) - is that meaning that the pump circuit is separate from shower circuit? :?

    Electric Shower - basic questions

An 8.5kW appliance will draw a current of 8500/230 = 37A, so an MCB of 40A will be required for the radial circuit with a cable size of either 6mmsq or 10mmsq depending on cable installation method and the length of cabling required. You can check the current breaker and cabling installed at...

    RCD or Switch First

Just chipping in - isn't a power shower meant to be on its own dedicated circuit rather than off a ring circuit? Or have I read this wrong?

Another Pair of Eyes would be appreciated

I stand corrected  , thanks for pointing that out. In defence, I was instructed to put the value in the R2 column. 'Gas equipotential bonding conductor' etc went in the Circuit designation column, leaving a few rows spacing from the numbered circuits.

How to avoid FSCs above worktop for appliances below?

Hi, I asked a similar question and here's what I found out: The kitchen ring cable feeds into the first DP switch (if you have a row of them). You then use small lengths of phase and neutral cores (i.e with insulation but without the cable sheath) from the first switch's supply terminals (L...

Another Pair of Eyes would be appreciated

Not sure if it's required on this form (mine are different) but do you not need to put in R2 values for the main equipotential bonding conductors? Looks very neat! Good luck

    ring final question

You would get this scenario (during ring continuity testing with opposite phase and neutral connected) if a bridge (interconnection) exists. The readings increase beyond the interconnection to the ring's midpoint, then decrease back towards the interconnection. Normally the readings should...
