The Ecotec 843 has an ajustable nominal heat input for heating from 4.5Kw/h to 33.7Kw/h and is capable of delivering almost 18 litres per minute of hot water. you might need to add an external expansion vessel if your system volumn is excessive as the one fitted is only10 litres.
The model number denotes the Kw output for hot water so the 838 gives you a maximum of 38 Kw/h to water which in ideal circumstances would gve you almost 16 litres of hot water per minute at your taps/shower, the heating output however is only 28Kw/h maximum not 38Kw/h as you might expect for...
I see where your coming from Bob, maybe some pipework was altered when the boiler swap took place and 4 months ago he wouldn't have noticed the problem as chances are the heating was being used.
As its your radiators getting warm why would you want to turn off the gate valve to your cylinder coil? When you select HW is the 3 port valve heating pipe getting warm 18" or so from the valve?
