I just went and bought a Triton Martinique after my opal solenoid went wrong. AND IT'S EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE OPAL AND GAVE IT A DIFFERENT NAME!!!! SAME POOR DESIGN WITH THE MICRO SWITCH SET UP!!! it's going back to Argos

A rad I want to remove has a TRV is it ok just to turn it off (and the other valve ) and remove the rad?

I had same probs they were ally and they corroded on, changed the to plastic ones.

I'll do that with a plastic one, but I recently put a steel one in, no need to fill bath.

What are peoples opinions of these gadgets called scale watchers ? they claim to cut down lime scale in the pipe work, washing machines etc...is there any scientific evidence they work? if they do why dont water authorities endorse them?

Yep, I have just finnished (well just a few to go) tiling on tiles, no probs looks bl00dy smart. Anyone considering doing it, do it, as long as the originals are secure youll have no probs.

So, without sounding fick, will it be ok to add more with a risk of over doing it a bit?

I cleaned and added new Fernox inhibitor to my C/H 18 months ago, I have now replaced an old rad in the Bathroom and the new one is plumbed in and waiting to be filled, would it be advisable to add more fernox into the header tank or just fill the rad with plane water. If I add fernox shall I...

What are these thingies that are advertised to stop limescale? they have a coil of wire around the rising main pipe. Do they work?

Amazing!!! Thats exactly the same prob I had 2 week ago, no leaks when the plug was in then leaking when draining away. It must have been leaking passed the overflow hole incorperated in the drain , All I done was to take the drain out and wodge sealer on both faces , no probs after that.

Arghh !!! Dont say things like "crack" when talking about tiles :o :D

I've used a steamer the one and only time I removed the ghastly stuff.
