Any other suggestions ? - Was told that it would be much easier to put some product into the cavity before the top was closed off. Back to square one I'm afraid.
Hi,
I'm doing a loft insulation. There is an interior wall (blocks) which comes up as far as the 1st floor with a cavity. I am going to dry line from the 1st floor up and use insulation board but what can I put into the cavity ? Insulation board wont slide down so I was hoping that some kind...
Well thanks for your time and good advice. I admit to being just a little confused with the detail but I think I'm just about with you. Will take a photo on Saturday and that should help me out. Realise the prob with insulation and heating costs but the extra is worth the exta room in the house...
All the advice seems a little harsh seeing that all I seek to do is expose some timber. The purlings and a frame are in great nick and the idea would give some more hight in the room. I see loads of places around here with the same exposed timber, surely this is all fairly standard stuff ?

I wish to take the cellings up and expose the beams in my roof. The timbers in the roof are sound and there are no leaks. I wish to insulate, board and plaster between the beams. The only thing is that there is no felt under the roofing tiles. I was hoping that I would not have to take all the...
thanks, is such a pump expensive to install, to run and a complicated thing to sort ? I would like to make use of the space I have in the 'new, premises so presumeably I would have to fork out in pumping in there to (10m from well)
Ive a well that was used until recently. Wish to re-use. I have a house and a seperate building which I am converting into an additional living premises. The additional premises is 4m above the house. I thought that I could pump the well water into the conversion and then use the height to...
Frames are good and I like the current style of my windows. Rather than replacing I thought of renovating and fitting double glazed glass. The only prob I can see is that the resess may dot be deep enough. Any thoughts about whether or not I can deepen it or any other solution ? If I were to...
