Maximum in a "max 60W" fixture would be 60W :) Or halve it to 30W just to take account of the power factor and be on the safe side. Either way, you're not going to need an LED that powerful unless you're growing pot. What is dumb is the newer fittings that say things like "max LED power 6W"...

Would it help to mention lower and higher heat values? What terms are you guys familiar with that will get across what is actually being reported for these boilers with >100% efficiency?

Just define 100% as the energy available while ignoring exhaust gas losses. Then recover the exhaust gas losses via condensing, voila efficiency > 100%. That particular definition is of course bogus, but historically common and still in use especially in (the rest of) Europe.

Maybe they squeezed a heat pump in there, too? Not many moving parts in those ...

Was this a serious question? Metal halide is not incandescent. The technology is mature (aka boring), reliable, and of comparable efficiency to LED lamps. Up-front cost of LED is somewhat more for equivalent lighting, and any energy costs savings are minimal unless you run an awful lots of...

Some combis take preheated water, but most don't. I'm not aware of any WB that does. Hard to imagine why anyone would install a boiler that doesn't with solar, but then it isn't at all clear what is happening with this particular system.

Oh, those sparks will do anything for a laugh. Wiring up a 100W light bulb inside the wall is a good one! Seriously, 100W isn't such a small thing. I'd be concerned about it too.

It can in theory although I've never seen it happen. The curing agent in most silicones creates acetic acid and this can definitely etch stainless steel. You can use a polyurethane sealant if you're concerned, or look for an acetone or alkoxy cure silicone.

Mine definitely stops if it hits something, although I'm not sure I'd like it to be me in the way.
