Texecom Digi Ouput with XBee in Voltage Divider Circuit

Hi Deryck Tintagel I would really appreciate if you could explain the formula based on which you suggested 600mW resistors to used, and what considerations are normally to be taken when coming up with the power dissipation? This is so that I can experiment with different resistors values for...

Texecom Digi Ouput with XBee in Voltage Divider Circuit

Hi Deryck Tintagel Thanks for referring to the resistors from Maplin, that is something I was worried about as I wanted put the resister in the enclosure of the Texecom, so power dissipation is very important to make sure that resistor don't burn out in the divider circuit. Thanks

Texecom Digi Ouput with XBee in Voltage Divider Circuit

Hi, I'm looking for the exact values that I should use, I know how to find them but still I can't figure out which values will be the best which is what I want to get here. Thanks

Texecom Digi Ouput with XBee in Voltage Divider Circuit

Hi I am fairly new to electronics, could you please explain a bit more about inverse diode to protect the input? At which end would I put it, do you know where can I learn more about that?

Texecom Digi Ouput with XBee in Voltage Divider Circuit

Hi, I have a XBee which I want to use to read the value of Digi output from a Texecom Premiere 24 Alarm Panel, the XBee has: VIH : 0.8 * VCC VIL : 0.2 * VCC (Where VCC is be 3.2 V) The XBee IO Input has an impedance of 10k, so since output voltage from Texecom output pin will be...

XBee (S2) and Texecom Premier 24 Digi Ouput Pins

Hi, Thanks, this is really helpful, I feel that I'm now equipped with the information I was missing before, I'll give it another try thanks.

XBee (S2) and Texecom Premier 24 Digi Ouput Pins

Hi, Then it sounds like the voltage divider set-up I had should work, but it didn't, I'm completely lost, why it won't work. Thanks,

XBee (S2) and Texecom Premier 24 Digi Ouput Pins

hi Does VIL mean that if the input receives voltage between that range then it would be considered as zero and similarly from VIH does it mean that if the voltage received on that input are in that range then it would consider them as high? From VCC does it mean the required voltage on...

XBee (S2) and Texecom Premier 24 Digi Ouput Pins

Hi, I have an XBee Series 2 and I was trying to detect an input from a signal which was 12v, so I used a voltage divider with R1=220k and R2=24k, I checked the output voltage with multipmeter and it was 1.2v, which is what XBee S2 input pin is meant to get, however the XBee was not able to...

Reading programmable output from Texecom Premier into Arduin

Hi secureiam, Thanks for that, I think I have that port on texecom premier 24, so I'll use that, what size of pull-up register I would need to bring-down the voltage from 12v to 3.3v? is there any formula to find register value? Thanks,

Reading programmable output from Texecom Premier into Arduin

Hi Thanks for your reply, that's really helpful. GalaxyGuy: I am newbie in electronics, so could you please tell me what does open collector mean? Secureiam: Where is the panel output in premier that is open collector? Thanks

Reading programmable output from Texecom Premier into Arduin

Hi, Texecom premier 24 has 8 programmable outputs, however the manual says they are 'Switched 0V' could anyone tell me what does that mean? Also If I want to read the output from Texecom Panel into Arduino/Respberry Pi, how can I do that? would I need some special circuit because arduino...
