Thanks, Mutley56 - had been wondering whether to go for bathroom paint or not for the top coats - did you use acrylic eggshell so that the plaster could continue to dry out? So I could us acrylic eggshell to start with, and in a year or so, I could put some bathroom paint on over the top?

Thanks, Mutley56 - yes, someone else mentioned that already, but thanks for the advice - am trying to leave gaps where the tiling is going to go. Appreciate your help.

oh yes, thanks, good point. the tiling is already underway, and unfortunately some of it was done before the mould was treated on the plaster - aargh! really hope this doesn't mean that i'll end up with mould coming through the grout lines? luckily i got there before the whole tiling job was...

Yikes! We'd have lost a lot of internal space if they'd gone down the stud wall route. Its only a few rooms that had to have their one external wall tanked, and it looked as if it was our one and only real option to protect us from the prevailing weather. They spent a lot of time repointing...

Apparently the new plaster is mostly onto plasterboard, apart from in some places where just a patch up was required. Why, does it make a difference to the drying times? We live on the coast, so it's a pretty damp location. But the house has just been renovated to try to eliminate the damp...
