    5A sockets and shaver plugs

Without looking anything up so I may not be aware of the whole history: AFAIA the original for 2pin was BS73 replaced by BS372-pt1 then partially replaced by BS4573 (specifically the 5A size for shavers?) Original for 3pin BS327 quickly replaced by BS372 -pt2 quickly replaced by BS546. I don't...

    2-way lighting switches, on stairs

All done. The cable from bedroom light was even long enough to to reach the junction box by upstairs light and to do the new part to the landing light. I just need a few cable clips now but they can waight. I'll get my son to take some pictures for you when he can come in again.

    2-way lighting switches, on stairs

I can't help thinking this is putting it back the way it was before we started. One of the switches I'm using is an intermediate so I have everything I need. The cable from the landing switch to the bedroom light is long enough th reach to the upstairs light

That means I'd have to bury another cable and it's only just been decorated. I think we'll have to leave it until we decorate next time.

Elf I've studied your circuit. I can possible get another cable in tHe stink pipe space to connect your brow into Loop in the rose and grey into L. Disconnect the red and blue between the switches. The unused 2 core can go to downstairs switch and be joined to a new cable to your black and blue.

Hello again. Thank you again for all the help, I'm still amazed you were able to get me through it. Mrs Straw was nagging me all last weekend to leave it as it was but now it's done she keeps saying how good it is and wants to thank you too. Now the next bit. our landing has a dogleg, there is...

    2-way lighting switches, on stairs

All done. The wires in the neutral were very short and one had broken at the screw so I have taken it into the junction box and made the red and black in the short piece spare to keep the earth going. All weekend my dearly beloved has been saying it was OK as it was and moaning that I spent so...

A Is it right that the the only reason the 2 power cables are in the light is for the loop? They is a junction block in the attic near the upstairs light for one of those cables is it best to do it ther instead

I see that now. Things are so different now to when I started my apprenticeship in 1959. All I seemed to do was cut and thread conduit.
