You may well be right about the soakaway, the amount of water they goes into the cistern from the down pipes it can’t possibly just drain onto the soil
Our house was built in 1908 and the rear down pipes exit into a small look rain water cisten that used to have a hand pump in it.
It has never overflowed question is where does the water go when the level reaches maximum?

Having a bit of a nightmare our bathroom in the new part of our house, has an extractor fan on the wall but the ceiling paint keeps peeling due to moisture above the shower cubicle.

We are in the process of buying a 300 year old cottage and there is a vertical pillar supporting what I presume is beam or RSJ.
Would it be possible to replace the beam/RSJ and do away with the support pillar? Please see attached pic.

We have had our Yale 6400 for around two years and have had no issues.
However today the system was unarmed and the siren started sounding for no reason, nothing was logged on the control panel and the tamper switch is solid on the siren any ideas?
