how to identify correct replacement thermostatic radiator head?

We have Pegler Terrier ll TRVs on all rads except one, which is a Terrier (but not a ll). All the ll's don't work correctly as plastic pin is too short for the valve - off is 0 and full heat is the only as far round as the * , 1-5 are useless as the plastic pin in the head is to short to reach...

Turn on hot tap results in warm radiator not water

I've just bought a house which has a Baxi 80 HE in the loft and, as unseen at viewing, we requested a Gas Safe Cert as part of our purchase which was provided. Having been in the house of 2 weeks its never had hot water but as it has a surprisingly good electric shower downstairs this hasn't...

    Gap between coving and wall

Caulk will fill most gaps but more than say 3mm you should really use some filler as it does shrink a little. Almost all brands can be over painted but don't sand very well. Squeeze in just enough and smooth with your finger. Viola! Fill the crack first, paint later. Although if you're...

    Rough textured finish

sharp sand maybe? Failing that light sand and repaint the whole affected wall.

    Gap between coving and wall

One word, caulk. If your worried that the coving could come loose then some grab adhesive could be used first.

    Gloss on gloss problem

Thanks for all your suggestions. What should I try first?!!! If I was to attach the washing machine hot supply to the cold surely I would need to drain the system otherwise were would all the crap go? Therefore, would I need to open the drain at the bottom of the cylinder and drain the...

Poor Gravity feed hot water pressure -possible improvements?

I have a vented hot water system from a cylinder in the cupboard heated by either the back boiler or immersion. It has 22mm pipe running round the maisonette. 2 years ago I fitted a new bathroom and ensured I fitted low pressure everything (shower head, shower pipe, taps, full bore isolating...

    Hot water pump

Excuse my ignorance but surely this is relevant to my system? It pretty much is my system isnt it? The cold is mains throughout the house, the hot is from the cold water storage tank, via cylinder to the taps so not mains.

Hi Been having a read around on the grundfos pump and noticed this post... //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=203250 Should I check to see if I have this overflow to worry about or is it a given that I would have it? If so will I need to fit a slurry valve or would a non...
