Saniflo Sanicompact - who makes 10psi AAV 32mm solvent weld?

Heh, I understand perfectly the hatred of them. Fortunately it is urination only. - Old amputee, sitting up ensures tilted bladder empties fully - Faecal toileting via Care Bags & Bed Pan, milton fluid & NHS safety gel super absorbent powder ensures gelled odourless mass (milton vital for...

Saniflo Sanicompact - who makes 10psi AAV 32mm solvent weld?

Well no-one will rate their AAV to 10psi. Saniflo say they can not suggest any brand, but "this has never been a problem". Er, so when a pipe DOES block... what chance does the AAV have of holding back the positive pressure of a Saniflo pumping you know what against it?! The French really...

Saniflo Sanicompact - who makes 10psi AAV 32mm solvent weld?

Saniflo Sanicompact note that where the pipe discharge is below the floor level of the unit, an AAV (Durgo) may be required with 10psi rating. The discharge from the 32mm to 110mm stub soil stack is pfft, 100mm below finished floor level. An alternative option is for the drop to be in the...

flooring grade rock asphalt replacement - new DPM choice?

Existing floor DPM: Flooring grade rock asphalt, perimeter shattered, messy repairs, few cracks. Brittle toffee, hessian underlayment, concrete slab, 1951. Being removed for shower area (Sika-1 w/proof screed over impey aquagrade w/duralay wp etc). Clearly the concrete will need a grind...

    lathe services?

Sorry, yesterday & day before were very very long days. Production of machine turned parts (basic lathe, pillar drill, machining, for 1-4 off quantities), from CAD drawing and judicious application of money!

    lathe services?

Anyone offer lathe etc services? I now have 2 laser/machine/lathe people who handle DIY (1-off), but a 3rd would be very useful. There were 2 people in the past 3yrs who posted, but they may have left or simply changed ID making contacting / finding them hard.

    lathe services?

In the past a few people had access to basic lathe services, anyone still around? Thanks.

Concrete raft 1950s - depth for pipe, asphalt over concrete

I need to put a 22-32mm pipe in a floor. Build is 1950-52. Construction is 22-25mm flooring grade asphalt (brittle) over concrete raft. Raft appears to have a ring beam down to at least 24" from digging (concrete extends 24" below brick, so 225mm of brick above that to the concrete floor)...

Cavity Wall - wall tie, bridging, brick returns - photos

Thank you both for your replies. I did not thank you earlier just to "let the comments flow". I agree. What puzzles me is why there is a solid run of snapped headers from the inner leaf mortared to the outer leaf about half way up a wall, with the outer leaf still being stretcher bond. I...

PIR on solid wall - roll-own w/Seconds or PIR+PB pricey?

A quick examination showed browning/plaster of min 32mm depth. So a load of genuine Marmox 50mm seconds with Mapei Keraquick on the wall gets a cheap & waterproof insulation solution. That will have to wait, other stuff to finish first...

PIR on solid wall - roll-own w/Seconds or PIR+PB pricey?

I need to insulate 4m^2 wall. The wall is solid double brick, pebbledash, 2ft eaves overhang. The wall sits between 2 cavity walls, with one cavity wall being just 3ft long where it meets a 2x4" mortar debris infill bay window w/pebbledash. The 4m^2 wall does not seem damp, browning under...

Lean-to roof repair - tiles on mortar / felt / mortar / wall

Thank you for your reply. I will get a photo in the next few days and post it. The relative (82) indicates it has been a damp area for 30yrs. No mould, just what I would characterise as "permeating damp". I am currently buried in another task re marmox & celotex insulating the wall below...

Lean-to roof repair - tiles on mortar / felt / mortar / wall

Relative has the following lean-to roof... - Concrete marley etermit tiles on batons, felt, T&G close-boarded, rafters. 22-degrees. - Close-boards stop at the double-brick wall, tiles are then bedded on felt, on mortar, with mortar edging. Over the double-brick wall at a north-facing...

So when/how does all this notification/part P stuff matter?

Heh, unfortunately Obama is a figurehead for bankers. 20yrs from now globalisation is going to look like a mistake too big & too fast. It is pushing too many people to the shadows of economic survival, pushing them to play the moral exchange rate. I also wonder if we may see protectionism...
