if so. then you will need to tank all the areas to be tiled. make sure you have the correct fall for the water to go down the drain.

you can get insulation that sits between the joists..i think it will be much like loft insulation. may be worth thinking about.
then the threshold of the room wont be too raised much.

totally true.i have seen loads of tiles come off months after they have been put on this way. usually when people use showers more than just the bath. the way is as said, a good tanking is all that is needed. have removed tiles that have been on for years and not been tanked. but you want to see...
