I agree with the hard water concern , but if you are a good engineer you test these things on qoutation, and doesn't matter what boiler you fit it states if above 200parts have you fit a scale reducer , If the water is really hard area you want to be fitting a proper softner in off the mains

I wouldn't be worried about the price of the heat exchanger when you get 10yrs warranty on both of them , but don't no exact price but they are around same price as other boiler heat exchangers ajdgas

Well they cant of followed it through very well because intergas have had the method running for 20yrs in the netherlands already. Iv seen one that is 15 yrs old to ! if you stripp one down and look at the design of the 2 heat exchangers you might think different ajdgas

Forget wb Get a Intergas combi 28/24 HRE only 4 moving parts and 5yrs parts and labour warranty Really reliable boiler ajdgas

If it turns out to be the plate to plate heat exchanger, you want it power flushing to clean the system and get a magna clean fit on the system to prevent further iron passing to the new plate to plate ajdgas

They need doing within 12 months, a gas safety check is a inspection and does not include servicing, Its best practice to have them serviced and cert at the same time. peace of mind if your renting out ajdgas
