    Safe Zones

Thank you very much. Great reply! This place was 1980s so another decade back than what you describe, of course. Cheers!

    Safe Zones

Does anyone know when Safe Zones for cables were introduced? I’ve opened a stud wall for pluming in bathroom and cables for the adjoining room are nowhere near complying. They’re all over the place. Property was built about 1984.

    Underfloor pipe runs

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to clip them after insulating?

    Underfloor pipe runs

Is it ok to run plastic central heating pipes beneath a suspended timber ground floor and across the oversite? I'm thinking of doing this (after insulating the pipes, of course). The other option is to notch the joists in the conventional way but beneath allows for much smoother bends. Jim

John Thanks very much for that. I'll give it a go and let you know how I get on. Probablly be a few weeks. Many thanks. Jim

    Raising Joist in Lofts

Thanks for the reply John. I'm actually less worried about the insulation than the weight of the deck. Do you think the 4x2s would be ok? That way, there would be minimal compressing of the insulation. Jim

    Raising Joist in Lofts

PMFJI I'm trying to do the same thing. The joists are 4x2 and there is 4" insulation between and 6" insulation at right angles (it's quite a recent job). I'm trying to avoid placing too much weight on them but I don't want to compromise the insulation either. Would some more 4x2s at right...
