Nice one Sleepyhead, yes I found a small brown like cap on top of the heater, I pressed it and hey presto we have heat, and because I gave the condenser chamber a good clean out, the clothes now seem to be drying fine. Respect to this forum!! Regards Jim

Yeah I had a good luck, but no sign of any stray 2 wires, maybe somebody disconnected them and forgot to put them back, it might help if I knew where they should be connected to on the circuit board? Anyway as long as the machine works ok without them!!!!

I can't seem to find it now, but I'm sure I read there somewhere on here that there is a safety switch or cut out switch for the condenser on the Hoover machine, can any one confirm this?

I thought it was, I just can't work out why there is no sign of a electrical connection for it?

I've just been stripping the back pump on a Hoover Performa 1100, due to lack of discharge of water, sure enough, out of the pipes came a 5p and some nails, I cleaned out the pump and all seems to be working well, them I noticed a similar pump at the front end of the machine (filter end), this...

Thanks for that Sleepyhead, I think it has swollen, but now I know it does come off I will try again, the reason for taking it off is to check the condenser, as I'm a composer not a appliance engineer what should I be looking for and if blocked is it easy to repair? Thanks in advance Jim Curtis

Hi, I've just recently acquired a Hoover Performa 1100. Can anyboby tell me how to remove the top? I've unscrewed the three back screws, as I have took the back trim off it looks like the top is just a piece of white backed chipboard, should this chipboard top just slide out? if so this ones...

Thanks for that Sleepyhead, It does rotate a few times in one direction then reverse, but when you take out the clothes, they come out hot, steaming and not completely dry, this must because of the steam, just to add, I am only using this machine in the shed as a dryer and not as a washer! It...
