Could the banging noise possible be due to the ACTUATOR in the airing cupboard, every now and then it makes a very loud humming noise and even when the heating system is turned off the noise is still there and does not stop.

The boiler is a maxol morocco. The first time this problem happened I had a gas plumber out to fix it, he changed the thermocouple which fixed the problem with the pilot light, but said he has not heard of banging coming from pipes. Three weeks later the banging happened again when the central...
